Saffron Couscous Turkey Roll

By andre

Well, this is the second time Melanie makes this dish, and this was the first time we’ve made it together!  Much like the first time, this rolled turkey breast was absolutely delicious, and I wish I had a spare stomach for suppers like these.  This is the perfect dish for small holiday gatherings as a 2 pound turkey breast can easily feed 6-8 people!

We decided to try something new with this recipe post, and if you venture past this intro, you’ll notice we’ve added collages of candid prep shots.  This should provide you with more insight into our kitchen manners, and I give full credit to Melanie for this idea.  She’s been quite the shutter bug in the Kitchen lately!

Read on for the full details and our candid prep shots!

Hearty Beef Vegetable Soup

By andre

Walking home in sub zero temperatures will chill you to your bones, and this is precisely what happened last night.  I knew I had a few hours of prep time to play with as Melanie was working late, so I quickly decided to get a warm pot of soup done up for her arrival.

The soup was actually simple to put together, we actually had everything on hand, and add to that a warm piece of french bread and you’ve got nostalgia in a bowl (well, for me at least!  If only I had a fireplace where I could hang my feet near…)

Regardless, this soup will warm you on the coldest winter days!  Read on past the jump for my ingredient list, which you can fully modify to your liking, and my basic instructions!  15 minutes to prepare and about 60 to cook….perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon!

I know I’m a little late posting this recipe, but I was on vacation and conducting my life at a slower pace.   Anyway, my partner and I had some friends over for a Thanksgiving supper this year.  As usual, I wanted to showcase my skills as an amazing baker and set out to find a recipe for pumpkin pie, but with a slight variation.   I found a recipe with the end result being an amazingly delicious velvety smooth pumpkin pie that even transformed non-pumpkin pie eaters into fans.  I think that says something!  Enjoy!!
