Mango Cucumber Salsa
I’ve decided to go southern a bit, and can you really blame a Canuck in the dead of winter? This recipe will be used tomorrow night for our marinating pickerel filets we picked up in St Jacobs. So if you’re looking for an easy, fresh and healthy way to spice up a fish filet, pork chop or chicken breast, look no further my friends! This simple recipe can be made in under 15 minutes and stored for 5-7 days in the fridge.
Enjoy!

don't forget chocolate's favorite companion, Milk!
I had a feeling it was time to bring out my Babycakes cookbook again. I was making Peanut Butter Blondies with Milk Chocolate Frosting as dessert for a pot-luck / games night with some friends, and thought I needed to achieve a sense of balance between vegan and main-stream-everyday-ingredients desserts. It seems like its been ages since I’ve posted a recipe! EEK!
Anywho….Melanie isn’t a big fan of soya sauce, and it goes without saying that she’s also not a fan of your typical Teriyaki stir fry sauce. Over the years I thought she just didn’t like stir frys, but it turns out it was the sauce’s fault all along! Shame on you sub par sauce! So with my resolve in hand and some creative kitchen engineering, I whipped up a fresh batch of homemade stir fry sauce! If you’re looking for quite possibly the lightest, tastiest stir fry sauce you’ve ever tried, look no further my friend!
Full recipe after the break!

I came across a veggie pot pie recipe on the Playing House website and agreed with everything the author had to say about the comforts of food to spending a lazy weekend day in the kitchen myself or with Andre. This particular weekend Andre and I spent Saturday afternoon in the kitchen making this delicious recipe. I hope you also enjoy!
