I had the day off and had Andre randomly pick a page number in an ancient LCBO Food & Drink recipe book, and this is what he chose. The dish seemed a little strange at first, but as soon as that first spoonful hit my tongue I knew this was a hit. Read on for the ingredients list and directions!

Sometimes you just get tired of big, typical meals. I know we do! So this past Sunday I decided to whip up a simple nutty salad and some tender crab cake appetizers. The recipe calls for 26 mini cakes, but I decided to make 6 large ones. The crab cake recipe called for 1/2 cup of Mayonnaise, but since we all know how fattening that would be, I heeded Melanie’s advice and used Natural Yogurt instead!

Well, Melanie brought dessert to the recent Big Time Game Night, and I had the honor of bringing some kind of finger sized appetizer….and I took it literally! These little tomato and chicken stuffed tortilla shells were an absolute hit! The mild spice and smokey flavor of chipotle made these delectable and the cold and refreshing guacamole I whipped up for dipping kept things balanced!
Give these a try, they don’t take very long to make and they’ll fly off the plate! Read on past the break for the full directions and ingredients list.

Walking home in sub zero temperatures will chill you to your bones, and this is precisely what happened last night. I knew I had a few hours of prep time to play with as Melanie was working late, so I quickly decided to get a warm pot of soup done up for her arrival.
The soup was actually simple to put together, we actually had everything on hand, and add to that a warm piece of french bread and you’ve got nostalgia in a bowl (well, for me at least! If only I had a fireplace where I could hang my feet near…)
Regardless, this soup will warm you on the coldest winter days! Read on past the jump for my ingredient list, which you can fully modify to your liking, and my basic instructions! 15 minutes to prepare and about 60 to cook….perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon!

This is an incredibly easy recipe and delicious for lunches. Enjoy!

Well, we had something similar at a friends’ place some time ago and his version was so darn tasty that I just simply had to try and recreate them. Did I recreate them successfully you might ask? I didn’t, but what I did make was tangy, sweet and salty. Read past the break for the ingredients list and the simple directions.

can you guess what that can is lurking in the background?
Melanie was busy making some super duper delicious chinese dumplings (recipe to follow shortly), and after having shredded half of the cabbage, realized she had far too much for her recipe. I decided to take the cabbage off her hands, and whipped together an impromptu bowl of carrot and cabbage slaw. The addition of chipotle peppers gave the finished product some lasting heat.
Read on for our ingredients, directions list and a 4 shot sequence of me enjoying the salad!
