I always hate throwing away food, specifically fresh produce, when it has become a little too ripe. This is when I encourage my creative side to kick in. I had some apples that were perfect for baking, which prompted my creative side to think of Apple Crisp. For the last 4 years, I’ve tried to perfect the art of baking Apple Crisp. You see, my partner LOVES his mother’s Apple Crisp, and naturally I’m trying to create a better version – it’s the competitive side in me. Well, I think I’m on the cusp of succeeding with this recipe. I got a ‘wow, this is delicious . . . just as good as my mom’s . . . almost better.’ Make sure to serve this dessert with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream.

When you’re craving a sweet comforting treat, there’s nothing better than a chewy chocolate chip cookie with a tall glass of milk. I whipped up a batch of these delicious cookies in no time, and enjoyed my treat. I wasn’t the only one enjoying these treats – my brother and partner couldn’t stop eating them. We’ve had about 4 racks of ribs sitting in our freezer for a few weeks now so it was about time we made good use of them. Yeah, it’s good friday and apparently people don’t eat meat today, but I figure, why not? I used a tasty rub and made some semi-homemade bbq sauce to accompany that. The result was delicious!

The sun is shining and it’s nearly BBQ season at our home, so we decided to jump the gun and toss a few pork tenderloins on the bbq. The result was tender, succulent and flavourful. If you’ve never tried a rub before, it’s dead simple and the tasty crust that forms keeps all the tender juices inside as the meat cooks. Yummy!
