I was in the mood to make something festive – yet simple -
for my partner’s birthday supper, but I was tired of our usual ethnic
dishes. I came across a couple of simple, Chinese take out food type of recipes and decided to try my luck. This recipe was delicious and won the taste buds of my brother, who is a very picky eater. Best of all, the birthday boy loved the dish.

I wanted something festive but different for my family’s traditional Thanksgiving meal, and I stumbled upon this recipe. Bringing this cheesecake to the family dinner surprisingly cause me to question my baking abilities for a couple of seconds becuase there are some talented chefs/bakers in my family. However, those couple of seconds of questioning were short lived – I knew my cheesecakes were delicious! And, that is the exact response I recieved from my family members. I was even challenged to a bake off for next Thanksgiving, as there I was told my pumpkin cheescake was better than my aunts!!
